OK you can use that language if you wish. To me since the error
function is just another unknown integral it is like defining the
original unknown integral to be in "closed form" by definition, but
whatever.

No, the Error Function it is not "another integral", it
is as well known as the Bessel Functions, Hankel Functions,
Spherical Harmonics or a dozen other well known functions.
There is a well known Maclaurin series for the Error
Function. To say that a Bessel Function, or Hermite
Polynomial Function is not a "closed form" is incorrect.
I'm sure we would be hearing from Jay, but he's probably
playing with the online Mathamatica Integrator which will
keep him entertained for at least a half hour I'm sure.
