That's wrong. The understanding of General Relativity has *advanced*
since 1948. Yes, if Einstein was stating a mathematical theorem, then
no, it would still be a theorem today (although it is very likely that
it would be formulated in different language). But Einstein's remarks
were not of the character of a mathematical theorem.
