If your life isn't " empty ", you sure fooled us.

Jeff - Its a waste of time talking to people like this. Best to ignore
them altogether lest we risk becomming like them and start flaming for no
reason other than we are irritated by their constant flaming, insults and
display's of ignorance. :)

On that note someone let me know that people here are confused as to the
meaning of "ignorance". I.e. I was made aware of the following comment

"...Pete have dismissed and insulted the intelligence of (yadda yadda
yadda)".

I do not dismiss people. I only block people who are being rude,
condescening or are flaming. I have never insulted someone's intelligence
(at least not seriously). I've only pointed out their displayed ignorance
in certain areas. I have also said that people were acting inappropriately
by flaming and posting insults. When most people use the term "ignorance"
it means "lacking in knowledge" and not the same "lacking in
intelligence." Assuming otherwise is incorrectly jumping to a conclusion.
If I mean "stupid" I'd probably not say anything (because they'd be too
stupid to understand why I said it).  The term ignorance means " lack of
knowledge, education, or awareness". See
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ignorance

I've repeatedly stated that I don't know the people who post here and thus
cannot and will not make a comment on what they are truly like as far as
intelligence, meaness etc. Androcles *acts* like a real prick but for all
I know he's a great guy in reality.

Someone else (?) claimed

- The fact that Juan is nice to Pete doesn't mean that Juan is a nice
person. It doesn't mean that Juan is not a crackpot."

I never associate a person's "niceness" to whether they post nice things
in a post. And whether a person is nice or not will depend on who they are
relating too. Clearly people like Dono post "unpleasant" comments to many
people here. What he's like off the internet is anybody's guess. Such
people very polite to people they admit are more knowledgeable than
themselves e.g. Tom Roberts. I can't say what either Tom or Dono is like
in real life since I don't know either of them personally I refuse to
guess. All I can do is to state what they *appear* to be like on the
newgroups and clearly Dono is very "unpleasant" and Tom appears to be
quite condescending (and the fact that he refuses to admit his mistakes
makes him not worth reading). That I'm nice to people like Juan only means
that I don't insult them, nothing more and nothing less.  I choose to be
polite to anyone I respond to, i.e. those I haven't blocked for their
flaming/insulting behaviour.  I will never block someone because I
disagree with them. I will *only* block them when they are rude,
condescending or are flamers. Juan has never displayed any of those
qualities to me. My mother didn't know Jack about physics. That doesn't
mean I thought they were stupid or that I shouldn't be nice to them. I
will be nice/pleasant to anyone I write to as a matter of course.  And I
don't respond to people for the sole reason that they are "nice" to me. It
respond because I have something to say. Believing otherwise is clearly
backward thinking. Only one thing is true - I will block people who
flame/insult me. As for the rest, I'll will exchange posts with anyone
when I want to say something and I will be nice because that is the way I
prefer to act. That applies to *anyone* I post to (i.e. people I haven't
blocked for flaming/insulting).

The last thing someone quoted to me was

- The fact that Tom Roberts (or whoever) hurts Pete's feelings
does not mean that Tom Roberts is a crackpot.

Tom has never "hurt my feelings" and I've *never* held him to be a
crackpot. That's just plain silly and yet another lie.

I said that Tom was condescening and sometimes pretty rude. Quite often he
has made gnorant remarks. E.g. Tom tried to correct someone, perhaps me,
for using the notation A^u to refer to a vector. Tom thought that notation
was reserved solely for refering to a component of a vector. It clearly is
not. Thinking otherwise is a perfect example of what it means to be
"ignrorant". It doesn't mean "stupid", it means "lack of knowledge".
Using A^u is clearly standard notation to refer to the vector as a
geometric quantity rather than it merely being a component of such a
quantity. I explained this to Tom and referred him to Ohanian who clearly
explains this fact. But Tom either ignored that fact, probably because he
did not want to admit he was wrong.

Just because someone is condescening and not worth talking too doesn't
mean my "feelings" were hurt in any way shape or form. Assuming otherwise
is yet another example of ignorance. Then again, if this is the standard,
I suppose that I must have hurt the person's feelings who posted this.
Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. But that kind of twisting of
my words is probably one of the reasons I blocked you. lol!

I know that's impossible for many of you to stop lying like this and
nobody really cares either. The purpose of this post/thead is in the hopes
that people will not make this same pathetic mistakes in the future. That
will never actually happen. lol!

Let me make this simple for you - Ignorance is not the same thing as
stupidity. Stop making accusations that they mean the same thing.

Correction - I just recalled that I have blocked people in the past for
reasons other than flames/insults, namely the constant barrage of spam by
Rhetic. I blocked him because his posts are nothing more than spam and he
refuses to address obections to his claims. That makes his posts not worth
reading. However since he changes his handle on a daily basis I have not
figured out how to block his spam yet. It may be easy to do with Outlool
Express but I haven't really bothered too hard to figure it out ... yet.
