Proposal for an experiment to differentiate SRT from LET

Hi All,
Here I present a proposal for an experiment, expected results and
calculations.
Please
a) Point out mistakes in the calculations if any
b) Provide details of past such experiments

The experiment
Measure half-life of particles moving in straight line with accuracy
greater than 10^-5.

Expected results

Assume
Particle speed- 0.6C m/s
Rest half-life - 1 micro seconds
C - 3*10^8 m/s

As per SRT
Measured half-life - 1.25 microseconds fixed

As per LET
Measured half-life - 1.24925(min) to 1.24925(max) microseconds
systematic variation with period 24 hours

Maximum will be experienced when earth and particle move in same
direction and minimum when moving in opposite direction.

Calculations

S’ -->V1 o---------<-V2---------oP

S__________________________________

V1 - speed of earth wrt Absolute rest frame (positive x direction)
V2 - speed of particle wrt lab frame (negative x direction)

As per LET
Half-life in earth T½E = T½A * sqrt(1-V1^2/C^2)
Half life in Absolute rest frame T½A= T½ * 1 / sqrt(1-Vx^2/C^2)
speed of particle wrt Absolute rest frame Vx=(V1-V2) / (1-V1*V2/C^2)

Combining all three equations we get
T½E= T½*1/sqrt(1-((V1-V2)*C)^2/((C^2-V1*V2)^2)) * sqrt(1-V1^2/C^2)

V1=300000 , V2=- 0.6c= -180000000 => T½E = 1.25075
V1=300000 , V2=0.6c= 180000000 => T½E = 1.24925

Amuthan.
