now.

Stride, me to me: 0
Me to ship: 3 feet.
Me to Earth: 200 miles.
Ship to Earth: 10,000 miles (1 stride)
Ship to ship: 0
Earth to Earth: 0

Which measurement is wrong? NONE of them!

Check it with a dumb computer if you want to, they are smarter than you.
That's why you can't program one, you have preconceived ideas and don't
follow the simple rules of logic.

Your steps involve time (for normal people, one foot usually follows the
other). Meter rods do not. They define an absolute and universal spatial
interval. A footstep can also define an absolute length unit in its own frame.
You can cut a metal rod at exactly the length of your pace and call it the
'Androcles' length standard. It can be calibrated in 'milli-Androcles'.
