Androcles's accusations of lying

Our friend Androcles is in a fragile state of mind, tending toward
violence, and losing control of himself.

He accuses me of lying when I cite Einstein's 2nd postulate of
relativity as "Light always travels at a constant speed in a vacuum
relative to any inertial frame of reference." He objects to the
limitation to inertial frames of reference. (See text from Androcles
appended below.)

It is true that he can find statements of the 2nd posulate that do not
mention inertial frames, but most citations do include it, as, for
example, the Wikipedian article "Special Relativity."

"He discerned two fundamental propositions that seemed to be the most
assured, regardless of the exact validity of either the (then) known
laws of mechanics or electrodynamics. These propositions were:(1) the
constancy of the velocity of light, and (2) the independence of
physical laws (especially the constancy of the velocity of light) from
the choice of inertial system. In his initial presentation of special
relativity in 1905 he expressed these postulates as:[10]

"The Principle of Relativity – The laws by which the states of
physical systems undergo change are not affected, whether these
changes of state be referred to the one or the other of two systems in
uniform translatory motion relative to each other.
"The Principle of Invariant Light Speed – Light in vacuum propagates
with the speed c (a fixed constant) in terms of any system of inertial
coordinates, regardless of the state of motion of the light source."

I also searched the German literature online and found dozens of
phrasings, but most do include the restriction to inertial frames, as
this one:

"Die Lichtgeschwindigkeit im Vakuum hat in jedem Inertialsystem den
gleichen Wert."

Translation: "The principle of the constant speed of light:
"The speed of light in vacuum has the same value in every inertial
system."

That is less important than the violence of Androcles's language in
denouncing me. His language is skirting the limits of permissible
discourse. In New York State, it is an offense called "menacing" to
threaten someone with bodily harm. Androcles may be safe across the
ocean, but he should be careful.

speed of
some other object as v, but in the unpreferred frame the speed of the
light
is c+v.

Uncle Bull*** is a squirming ignorant toad unable able to understand

Galilean relativity.

Clearly Uncle Bull***'s theory of special closing speeds bears no
relation
to
Einstein's theory of relativity and is a red herring introduced by the
LYING

As Einstein himself said:
"Prominent theoretical physicists were therefore more inclined to reject

principle of relativity, in spite of the fact that no empirical data had

propagated in empty space with a definite velocity c which is independent
of
the state of motion of the emitting body."



Androcles is quibbling over my use of the word "inertial."
