OK, I see this particular question stirred some thinking, some of it
with disagreement even among practitioners of relativity.

No disagreement about the question whatsoever.

And it should. It's not a simple a question to answer when one is
scrutinizing evidence. I am going to read each response thoroughly
and make a response to some of the comments.

If you think that "Rizi", "koobee.wublee" and "schoenfeld" are
"practitioners of relativity", then you are a complete imbecile,
just like they are.
And as for "pmb'... well, try to formulate your sentences needing
at most 5 words using at least 500 words - otherwise you can
bet he'll understand you inside out upside down.

Dirk, I was speaking particularly of pmb's response and your's. He
made a case in evidence while you made a case in principle.

"a case in evidence"... "a case in principle"...
you sound like an armchair philosopher, not hindred by any
knowledge of the subject he is talking about. Yuck.

Look at it like this: you have no idea what you are talking
about and he had no idea what you might have been thinking.

I would
like to see where a discussion, relying on evidence, might ultimately
take the both of you to a common understanding.

Discussions with pmb are not possible. Try it - you'll love it.
