Sue... says...
<< Einstein's relativity principle states that
blah, blah, blah.
Why do you post quotes when you have no idea what they
mean, or how they relate to the discussion at hand? That
is truly bizarre behavior, Sue.
Try making a post in which you eschew quotes and instead
express a complete thought. If you don't understand what
someone has said, then try asking a clarifying question.
If you think that someone has contradicted himself (or
has contradicted Einstein, or whoever it is you want to
quote), then lay out the supposed contradiction. Write
the two phrases, and explain why you believe that they
are contradictory. Try to be open to the possibility
that the contradiction is due a misunderstanding on
your part.
You need instructions in how to have a discussion, how
to think, how to argue honestly. They don't explicitly
teach these skills in school, but people usually learn
them through practice and observation, taking into account
other people's reactions and confusions.
In contrast, you never take into account what anyone
has said to you, except in the syntactic, mindless
sense that the "Eliza" program takes what a person
says into account: you just look for keywords to trigger
your canned, unvarying responses. That isn't sensible
behavior, it isn't even *human* behavior.
It's possible that you are incapable of anything different,
in which case, I feel sorry for you.
For some reason, people keep saying that you are Dennis
McCarthy. If that's true, then something must have happened
to you. The Dennis McCarthy that I once argued with was
at least capable of reading, understanding, and responding
to an argument.
