"Poincaré's work at the Bureau des Longitudes on establishing
international time zones led him to consider how clocks at
rest on the Earth, which would be moving at different speeds
relative to absolute space (or the "luminiferous aether"), could
be synchronised. At the same time Dutch theorist
Hendrik Lorentz was developing Maxwell's theory into
a theory of the motion of charged particles ("electrons" or "ions"),
and their interaction with radiation. He had introduced in 1895
an auxiliary quantity (without physical interpretation) called
"local time" t1 = t-vx1/cc where x1 = x -vt
and introduced the hypothesis of length contraction to explain the
failure of optical and electrical experiments to detect motion
relative to the aether (see Michelson-Morley experiment).[8]"

If this is where it comes from then you SR'ians all have been wasting
everyones time, since MMX was a wrongly thought out experiment
whose results would (and did) simply have shown Galilean
relativity or nothing more than Newtonian ballistic theory
as appliplicable.

Spirit of Truth

======================

There is no such thing as "absolute space." Nor, in fact, is there any
such thing as the division of space and time in two, such that the
spatiality of the Universe physically divides by time into innumerable
boxes in TIME-LINE (thus all distant space-NOW disappearing: that is,
PHYSICALLY ceasing to exist as anything having to do with PHYSICAL
CURRENCY). It -- dividing space by time -- is useful, but it is
strictly a convenience measure to keep from trying to realize frame
expansions and contractions. The expansions and contractions of an
indivisible space and time, an inseparable [spacetime], that come with
all motion, all movement, all travel.

You can physically divide, rip, spacetime from spacetime, expansion
here and contraction there, contraction here and expansion there, but
you can no more physically divide space by time than you can physically
divide the integral unit singularity of the universal constant of 'c'.

GL

======================

Speed is a derivative, not an integral.
What nitwitted non-existent integral unit singularity of the universal
constant of 'c'
horse's loose stool water would that be?

======================

I'll answer you, though it won't do a bit of good. The universal
constants are not "derivative." The constant of 'c' is a closed
up -collapsed- distant and constant [horizon] of the Universe. The
infinite Universe is never your local universe, nor is the [distant
Universe] at the speed of light ever any local universe. But that distant
Universe **being inclusive of every local universe** it has [constant
horizon] representation, local presence, in them all. And it doesn't
matter what plane, what surface, of an infinity of such -in depth- you're
in or on, the distant horizon constant remains the same distant horizon;
the same universal constant.

There is no such thing as absolute space, and there is no such
physicality as 'velocity' outside the local frame. Distant [apparent
velocity] is not the [local velocity]. You only travel light-times and
interior lines through the non-local universe. You the traveler, as the
accelerating expansionist, can encompass and enclose vast numbers of
external non-local localities (contracted spacetime frames) into the local
woodwork of your own local frame (the same as "fly over country" but
scaled up vastly). You measure your apparent distances from and to, and
thus your apparent speed, in and per exactly the same entity of observed
LIGHT-TIME HISTORIES (which uses no other base but 'c')! Externally,
observationally, you're a time traveler traveling speedily up or down
through vast numbers of varying histories around you (ever changing
light-time distances) rather than being a space traveler. Converting that
observed time travel to space travel, in an accelerating manner, plane to
plane, surface to surface, you are expanding / contracting space
(externalized non-local frames, within frames, within frames, within
frames....potentially to infinity up and down an infinite scale: but
always just one frame locally maintaining).

Observers position you the traveler, your APPARENT POSITION [ONCE UPON A
TIME!], in whatever the relative spacetime is by light-time to you, thus
measuring your APPARENT VELOCITY [ALSO A ONCE UPON A TIME EVENT!] The more
distant into the non-local universe (-) (into some HISTORY) you the
traveler are observed to be, the more uncertain becomes your actual
non-HISTORICAL location (0) (the more fictitious, then, is both your
observed position, your observed velocity, and your observed age). The
measuring stick universal constancy, the unit singularity of 'c' -- always
too damn dead [photo]-slow to keep up with reality -- makes all this so.
Except that on a higher plane, surface, of the Universe, you in your
expanded frame can take an entire contracted **non-local** galaxy in
one -one meter- step while never measuring the speed of light to be
anything other than its usual constant of 'c'. One photon (also 'apparent
traveler') can go through a vast number of separate slits all at once,
with the localized possibility of there being just one observer per slit
observing just one photon (just one apparent traveler) per each one -- and
only one -- slit. An apparently not so distant flash of something observed
locally may not be nearly as local regarding position and velocity as the
local observer sees and believes it to be. Once again, the one and only
photon (here you as the "apparent traveler") went through all of the
separate slits, all of the [vast] spread of localized frames, at the same
time (as if you were many of you at once rather than just one in, on, a
different plane (a different surface)).

I'll answer you, but it won't do a bit of good.
You are a ranting lunatic with a surfeit of verbal diarrhea.

*plonk*

Do not reply to this generic message, it was automatically generated;
you have been kill-filed, either for being boringly stupid, repetitive,
unfunny, ineducable, repeatedly posting politics, religion or off-topic
subjects to a sci. newsgroup, attempting cheapskate free advertising
for profit, because you are a troll, simply insane or any combination
or permutation of the aforementioned reasons; any reply will go unread.

Boringly stupid is the most common cause of kill-filing, but because
this message is generic the other reasons have been included. You are
left to decide which is most applicable to you.

There is no appeal, I have despotic power over whom I will electronically
admit into my home and you do not qualify as a reasonable person I would
wish to converse with or even poke fun at. Some weirdoes are not kill-
filed, they amuse me and I retain them for their entertainment value
as I would any chicken with two heads, either one of which enables the
dumb bird to scratch dirt, step back, look down, step forward to the
same spot and repeat the process eternally.

This should not trouble you, many of those plonked find it a blessing
that they are not required to think and can persist in their bigotry
or crackpot theories without challenge.

You have the right to free speech, I have the right not to listen. The
kill-file will be cleared annually with spring cleaning or whenever I
purchase a new computer or hard drive.

I hope you find this explanation is satisfactory but even if you don't,
damnly my frank, I don't give a dear. Have a nice day.
