Re: Question about relativity

"Give it some time."
What does this mean? Do you think you are smarter than me? Compared to
the cleverness and abstractness of many concepts this SR wouldn't even
make the list! This is like arithmetic. Some seemed to almost attack
ME if I questioned relativity. It seemed like closed mindedness and
maybe even stupidity to me when I would hear Carl Sagan and others
declare that something was impossible because it didn't agree with the
known laws of nature. It seems engineers are4 especially prone to
scoff at anything that doesn't agree with the established dogma.

Related to this topic I would like to submit two things I was looking
at recently on youtube which I would like an opinion on. Am I
skeptical about both of these? Of course. They have very little chance
of being true. But, I will give you an idea of how I think. These are
certainly intrgueing if possible. The first was done by a guy named
Stanley Meyer. He built a generator of hydrgen from water and there
are videos of him running a car off of it. The electricity to run the
H_2 generator came from the alternator. He got a patent on it after
years of trying and after he took a working model of it to demonstrate
to the patent office. Everybody believed it was just another perpetual
motion machine. Someone else examined it and claimed that it produced
(I don't know) a 100 times the hydrogen as conventional electrolysis
did, only drew 0.5 amps, and didn't even get warm. We all know from
chemistry and physics that you can't get more energy out of something
than you put in: The energy required to break the bonds of the H_2 and
O would be as much as you would get by re-combining them in the car
engine. He was supposedly using some sort of pulsed DC or current of
some frequency. He was most likely ruining his battery and someone
else was using a combination of this with gasoline and claimed to get
20% better fuel economy. He was probably deluding himslf. A person can
get someone to lie for them and you can do anything with a video
camera. But, what if he unwhittingly did find some way to tap into
energy no one knew was there? As a final note, he met an untimely
death. He died of food poisoning-very odd?

The second is from some links to haunebu. These bring up the question
of why do we need to use GR to figure out what gravity is when we
already know how to counteract it or nullify it? What these are are
accounts of how the Germans made UFOs at the end of wwII with many
photos of the various models and accounts of watching them fly. They
look exactly like the usual photos of UFOs. There are some almost
technical drawings also. There are some theories of operation, but I
don't believe them. Again, physicists say this is impossible because
conventional physics says so. And, yes someone can make up authentic
sounding accounts and doctor photos to sell books. I'm wondering why
its taken over 60 years for the public to find out about this. I take
all this very seriously and don't reject it immediately as impossible.
I'm going to try to learn all I can about this.
