Dear All,
I am currently employed in industry as a R&D scientist, evaluating and
testing ion mobility spectrometry instruments. However, my contract is
due to end prior to Christmas, and thus I am exploring future job
options for early 2005 onwards. I am particularly keen to return to
academia to further my research career, but for the time being at
least would prefer to remain at a UK institution to undertake my very
first post-doc position.
I graduated in July 2004 with a PhD in high-resolution gas-phase laser
spectroscopy, having studied at the University of York under the
supervision of Dr. Martin Cockett in the Department of Chemistry, the
majority of the work using pump-probe and field-ionisation techniques
to study small organic molecules and derived noble gas van der Waals
complexes. During this time, I have gained considerable experience in
the use of Nd:YAG, XeCl excimer and scanning dye laser systems, as
well as time-of-flight detection instrumentation, high-vacuum
equipment, and molecular beam generation apparatus. I have also
undertaken a limited amount of computational chemistry using the
Gaussian 98 software suite.
I am seeking a post-doctoral position broadly related to my PhD and/or
the techniques learnt during the course of the research, and have also
provided a list of publications to date;

398, nos. 4-6, p. 539; the effects of changes in the electronic
environment of the 2-aminopyridine-argon van der Waals complex.

structure of the lowest Rydberg and ionic states of the

All genuine feedback will be gratefully received - preferred e-mail
address is deb107(underscore)york(at)btinternet(dot)com - and a full,
up-to-date CV and contact information for two referees are available
on request; thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
