Hello, everybody!

I am writing a thesis about representations of spacetime groups. A
fact that has often been explained here ist that definite unitary
representations of non-compact groups have to be infinite dimensional.
My question is, where I can find a proof of that theorem and if it has
a certain name. I think, I got the idea how to proof it but I would
like to have some book I can cite.
Thanks in advance!
