I suggested on another thread that a box of photons, of bouncing ball bearings and a stationary lump should be indistinguishable as long as you don't look in the box.
I'm not reading everything here, so I don't know the context, which might be why I don't understand what you mean here.

I never use that term and I recommend that you avoid it.
Of course none of this has much to do with what the OP probably means,
