I have an idea for isotope separation but I am not smart enough to know its
potential. I never got a credible shoot-down of the idea either.
Unfortunately, the materials I know of for which the biggest isotope effect
is present is not practical.

KDP, pottassium dihydrogen phosphate is ferroelectric. The Curie temperature
is rather low. This Curie temperature is greatly changed for deuterated
KD*P. The crystal structure is significantly different on oppoposite sides
of the Curie temperature.

Suppose a water soluble ferroelectric crystal with a strong isotope effect
is available. Grow the crystals a temperature between the Curie points of
the regular crystal and the isotoply enriched crystal. Will fractional
crystalization be enhance by having different crystal structures.
