Exactly. That's why aether is the space-time-energy continuum
as a wavy medium of all fields and forces acting at ponderable
bodies in the medium by way of continuous pressure p = u/3
and QM processes by exchange of energy and impulse moment.
T(Aether)^4 is proportional to u and U = uV and has a universal
minimum T(Aether) = T(CMBR) because the all underlying level
of the aether energy density is the black body radiation called the
Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. So here read 'level'
for 'background'.
The Aether is energetic, not by energy coming from some edge,
but from all astrophysical objects i.e. bodies in space. And it is
so in every single point that may be found in space. And it is
EM-energy, because light is wavy electromagnetic energy,
invisible until it may be sensed or detected for instance by a
COBE detector, which measured the temperature everywhere
in space, not as some kind of telescope measuring only the
temperature of the apparent black body "wall" as the limit of
observation.
The aether energy can be modulated in every way which is
a further gain of the medium's energy and energy density why
gravitational waves created by swinging or oscillating bodies
is pure wave energy added to the EM-medium.
The aether cannot exist without waves, and those special
waves we know from light cannot exist without the aether.
The wave velocity is not a fix constant numeric value = c.
The magnitude depends as shown by Einstein of the gravity
field, and I must assume that it also depends of the local
energy density. Future investigation may show how it is.
