Sorry, but I think you're doing some damage control for Hawking, and the
picture still ain't pretty. Hawking -- and his acolytes, of whom there
are many -- have been riding this thing for decades. Hawking is ( was )
Top Dog, the Best Seller, and so on. And now his foundation has been shown
to be made of ash.

The problem is /really/ Big.

I see a huge discontinuity between what physicists are saying in the last 10
years ( post-Deutsche ) and what they said before -- but everyone is
walking around whistling like it's all one big happy linear thing from
Pauli to theorists of the negatively curved universe.

The *** is hitting the fans and Hawking is now the whipping boy. Yeah, I
know he's become the poster child of the ADA, and that is really great,
socially, but science doesn't have the time or the bandwidth for that
( Occam ).

Hawking was/is wrong. W - R - O - N - G -- and his rule has ended. The
King is Dead. Long live the .... < fill in your choice here >
