I challenge the poster to provide
ANY reference to where a CRT designer
used Relativity to design a CRT or picture tube.
As an old oscilloscope salesman,
who knew engineers at Hewlett Packard, and Tektronix,
and who set in on seminars about designing CRT's
to improve spot size, focus, writing rate, astigmatism,
color, brightness, phosphors, X-rays, etc., but
I never heard ONE engineer or research mention Relativity.
Hopefully "Marv Raybin" will be able to provide
some valid, real world information about who used
relativity to design a CRT or picture tube.
I might also mention that I have attended seminars
on the design of traveling wave tubes, backward wave oscillators,
magnetrons, etc.
and I never heard any of the designers mention that they used Relativity
in the design of these devices.
I wonder of Farnsworth ever used Relativity
in his numerous tube designs?
