Sorry, I've been frustrated by this exchange many times. The snippet
above is just one example.
I was in particular afraid that you *wanted* to play semantic games,
to stick to your line that this process isn't sorting but is instead
collation or merging. Your response here (not quoted) makes clear I
was wrong. I guess here on Usenet, I just expect the worst sort of
argument to be the way the thread crumbles.
Sorry again for my often brusque manner.
Though I wonder why *you're* glum that I have some experience in
computer science. I thought that only made *me* glum.
