So, alpha = ??? in terms of 2 and pi? I agree that alpha is purely
geometric. Geometry of what though? The common factor you are looking for
is vacuum charge = +,- sqrt(hbar*c) in cgs units. This is common to all
coupling constants including gravity.
G*mass^2/(hbar*c) = dimensionless number
