How 'bout "everywhere on the planet outsice science"? In the Real
World, you get rich from that behaviour.

But as much as I sometimes hate doing what it orders me to do,
Integrity demands that I observe that this guy was NOT quoting
Weinberg when he used the word "aether".

He says he;s about to quote Weinberg, but irambles on before he does.
Read the following again, and pay attention to the parts IN CAPS. They
are clearly the kid speaking, and not as an ersatz Weinberg

Also note that what appears to be an introductory elipsis in the first
sentence is actually where he accidentally hit the period twice:

"...for unifying the two fundamental forces had the following to say..
What is unique about Thomson Aether Physics is that he has all the
mathematics to prove his hypothesis. I'm still analyzing them
and looking for the goof-offs that can shatter them to
smithereens.

OUR SCHOOL HAS AN OBSESSION with Theory of Everything because it wants
to earn credit for the Nobel Prizes that would be won. Therefore many
thesis projects involve creating TOEs.

I'm interested in Thomson stuff because if he has already nailed the
toe, why waste time looking for it, and for the reason it's difficult
to change thesis subject in the middle when one knows Thomson already
nailed it. AFTER THE ARTICLE ON WEINBERG, I'LL SHARE Thomson's many
major points"

I think we have a legitimatly naieve physics student who doesn't know
any better, not a crank. And if his class really is looking into it,
the Professor's purpose would be to show how real Scientists consider a
superficially-appealing hypothesis, then prove it to be mistaken.

Of course, the wisest words in the language (after "I don't know") are
"I could be wrong". I'm frequently known to take people seriously when
it's obvious to everybody else that they're a crock of bull***.

PS:
Kid, forget about the Aether, okay? SR is fascinating enough all by
itself to keep you up all night in the internet!
