Not wrong. European convention on the use of "." and ","
is opposite to US convention. Thus, one million dollars and
seventeen cents in France is $1.000.000,17
So these two numbers are (in US convention) 1.3928
and 0.7857.

I have the same question. Perhaps they arise as
trig functions of the same angle.

sqrt(0.618).
Again, I suspect OP is supposed to come up with a
way in which this number arises "geometrically"
whatever that means.
