I am sorry there have been no direct measurements of gravity waves only
very good indirect residence.

The above article describes how a pulsar-neutron star system matches
GR's prediction of gravity waves very well.

I have also read of how the decaying orbit of a binary neutron star
system matches GR's prediction of gravity waves. The Gravity waves
radiate energy away from the two neutron stars causing they to fall
into one another. While other explanations are possible I have not
heard of one that matches the observed evidence as well as GR's
explaination.
