So you suspect that it (the Hariri assassination ) is a CIA operation trying
to incite a rebellion against the Syrians? I was told that they were going
to spend their time on covert operations to destabilise Iran. Destabilising
Lebanon... ? I guess their plans were exposed for Iran and so they must
'divert attention'?

Personally, I think you give the CIA too much credit. The current situation
is that Iraq is in the process of either melting down to civil war, or
becoming a Shia theocracy opposed to the U.S. ( do not think that the fact
that the puppet regime is *dependent* on U.S. forces will 'endear' them to
the U.S. )

The most likely outcome is not democracy ( they mostly voted becasue the
U.S. claimed that it would leave once elections were over ) but a coalition
of Iraq, Syria, and Iran allied in order to FORCE the troops to leave.

And do not think that the 'elections' composed of about 30% ( 60% turnout of
the 50% Shiites that followed Sistani and thus registered to vote) have
'legitimised' the government. A legitimate government would not NEED the U.S
military to keep order. Even those who are making these 'spin blogs' have
unintentionally admitted that the government of Iraq was NOT legitimated by
the election.
