This reminds me of how Roman Emperors were chosen during a certain
period of the Empire's history. I think a few Popes were chosen this
way too. I believe it was called Simony. But never have I heard of an
historian holding this up as shining moment in the history of
government!

And beyond that, wouldn't your war-for-profit gang, having cornered
most of the money in the world, sinmply buy up all the seats? That
would make their control complete!
