Yeah, usenet's on its way out.

Scanning some of these thread titles is unbelievable. I feel
like I'm looking at tabloid headlines. It'd be funny if these
people weren't actually serious. It'd be hard to even spoof
or make a satire of a lot of the stuff here as its already hit
rock bottom.

Some of the brighter poeple here seem to have made a sport of
dummy-smacking, but as I far as I'm concerned the novelty wears
off quickly.

You know, there some very good (usually phpBB ? based)
science/physics websites (no names to protect the innocent) where
it's still possible to have a decent discussion. It's a bit more
work than usenet news, but worth it. Most of the brighter poeple
left usenet news some time ago.

Google's a good thing, but google groups was the final nail in the
coffin for usenet news. The floodgates have opened.
