You should read a book called The Wealth of Nations, published by some
chap called Adam Smith in 1776. If you do, you'll realsie that if the
invention has any significant merit, profit and greed will cause it to
become an everyday use.

If the manufacturing costs can be pushed low enough, then it will be
cheap. Profit and Greed will provide a strong incentive for this to
happen. Much stronger than a Stalanist 5 year plan.
