To Al et al...
Evidently twin paradox discussions decay to semantics.
I'd like to suggest a GR approach (hold the eggs, and
tar & feathers)....
Suppose I sync a clock dx^0 with another ds using,
U^0 = dx^0/ds = 1 == synchronization.
Then ask how does that synchronization vary?
Relying on the GR geodesic,
dU^0/ds = -[GAMMA ^0_uv] U^u U^v
we find [x] must be NON-zero for the sychronization
to change. In SR, the metrics require the condition,
R^a_bcd =0 and thus [x] =0,
because the metrics are constants, hence SR
cannot predict a twin paradox.
We'll need R^a_bcd =/=0 to get [x] =/=0.
What do you think?
