Yup I think you could call the superconductor ring a coil gun.
 But not a tube coil like your talking.
Your tube will work fine at slower speeds.
 im talking another effect.
  Your not getting around impulsive resistace with the tube coil . And
forward motion is a coil to coil in the tube operation .
 
  A magnet wount wait on implusive force to jump.
 using that Ill put a BB on a magnet to hold it and magnetse it strong
then turn it down to hold.
  At the same time I reverse the magnet holding it im going to pop the
supperconductor 1 ms .
 The magnet wount wait on impulsive force
like a projectile . as it getspushed forward its not pushing back
against the force with resistance to move.
  Any time the resistance to move is removed
the energy to move it becomes small.
 No amount of energy will move the BB in a billionth of a sec is the
resistance of suden impulsive force is more than that time.
 resistance to motion and resistance to impulsive force are two allmost
odd things.
 If you hit a rod ,motion will travel its lenth befor it moves . at C
the lenth of a hammer one end is moving the other end is not and the
force must last till the motion travels its lenth at C.
 But gravity dont wait for impulsive force and emf shares some of
gravities qualities.
  Try them boath and use the best one.
 coil gun and ring gun.
  a coil ring 36 inches from a flat coil magnet that holds and
megnetises the resistance of impulsive force out of the BB.
  The strongest magnet meterial will make the best bb.
 If your going to shoot a magnet at 60,000 mph
blow holes in the air with rappid fire.
The first one 1/2 mile te second 2/5 ...
and keep blasting holes in the air.
 In less then a sec 10 rounds .
  The refrigerator magnet gun : )) lol
