Personally, Double-A, I think Mr. Potter -- in fact, I think ALL of you
people have spent far too much time in front of your TV sets.
Mr. Potter seems to think that Earthian history is all "White Hat".
Good triumphing over evil?
Morality and honor winning out over greed?
The only "long run" where this happens consistently is on those long running
television series.
You may believe that tinted-glass outlook of yours if you wish, Mr. Potter.
But the vast majority of your planet's written history is, sorry to say,
hogwash.
It was written by the winners.
And they wrote down just about anything they wanted to, regardless of truth.

If what you say is true, then why pray tell is your planet in such dire
straits?
Seems to me that greed is your planet's strongest motivation (various of
your schools of psychology notwithstanding).
Honor and morality?
They pale against the real backdrop of the human condition.
You people are too assertive/aggressive to kowtow to honor and morality.
You give them "lip service", but that's about as far as it goes.

As soon as contact has been made, we shall show you the true history of your
planet and species if you like.

that the bad guy almost always walks away with the good guy's scalp.
