You moron, from your own link:
"The Siege Tunnels were carved out by the Merchant Marine to defend
Gibraltar from the mainland during the "Great Siege" of 1779 to 1783.
The original goal of the tunnels was to get a cannon on the northern face
of the Rock known as the 'Notch'. Originally the tunnel was only 82 feet
in length but by the end of World War II, the tunnels had reach a winding
distance of over 30 miles."
Gibraltar was a military installation from the start and never any sort
of transportation system.
You are a drooling idiot, totally full of ***, and didn't even read
the link you provided to prove your point.
I have concidered what the US could do with tunnels as proven by the
New York Subway system.
You would have a maintenance money pit with no end in sight as shown
by the series of articles at:
http://www.newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/features/11160/
It is beset by floods, fires, equipment failures, and massive ventilation
problems.
Oh, you didn't know running trains constantly generates metal dust
that if not removed from the tunnels causes health problems and
massive fire hazards?
I thought not.
There have been $26 billion in repairs in the past 2 decades.
It is estimated that another $20 billion to $30 billion needs to be
spent on repairs over the next five years just to maintain the status
quo.
Ojective proof that your concept of "an everlasting safe, cheap, transport
system" is just childish nonsense and you are a dumb ass idiot.
Go back to India and get a job as a goat herder, though I doubt you
are qualified to do even that with your limited mental abilities.
