My daily drinking is divided up between water, V8 juice, rice milk, and
herbal tea. Since I broke my leg I haven't been brewing tea from scratch,
but buying Arizona diet ginseng tea. But I'm starting to get back on my
feet. Soon I'll be going out in my garden and picking fresh mint, St.
John's wort, yarrow, and brewing it with green tea and sweetening it with
honey.

If I go to a Mexican restaurant I'll order a margarita with my dinner (about
six times a year). For Christmas and Thanksgiving I'll have a glass of
wine, and on New Years Eve I'll splurge and put Baileys in my egg nog. I've
had two beers in my entire life. The first was when I was 16. It was a
Milwaukee beer. When I was in my mid 30s I met a fine chef who suggested
the reason I didn't like beer was because I started off with a bad brand.
So he took me to a German restaurant in Massachusetts that made their own
beer on site. I couldn't finish that glass either. I just can't stand the
taste of it. A couple years ago my mother bought stuff for making
margaritas and I had a margarita with her on Sundays for a few months.

I don't like the effect of alcohol on my brain cells. I find that half an
hour of meditation can give me all the high I want, plus it makes it easier
to use my brain for thinking.

And that's the honest truth.

Dave
