An MSDS for denatured alcohal
http://www.syndel.com/msds/denatured_ethanol_msds.html
lists as ingredients ethyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, methyl alcohol, and
methyl ethyl ketone.
If the other ingredients are added to keep people from drinking it, why
add methanol? It doesn't smell bad, it's just poisonous, and going blind
doesn't seem like an improvement on getting drunk. I don't know how
methanol tastes.
I also wonder about the ethyl acetate-- does that evaporate fully or leave
a residue? I've rinsed parts in alcohol which left rainbow colors.
