>thermodynamics
state that you cannot create energy that it only change from
one form to another.
so if E=MC2 THEN IF YOU CAN'T CREATE ENERGY THEN HOW
DOES MATTER GET CREATED THEN?
because if matter is another form of energy then you cannot
create matter because of thermodunamics
so what with the big bang it state that at the beginning
huge amount of energy formed but from what since energy is
matter and you cant create energy then where did the energy come
from? >>
COMMENT:
There are really two possible answers to this.
The first is that the first law of thermodynamics may apply locally in
the universe evolving in time, but may not necessarily apply to the
universe as a whole. Especially since we're talking about an event
which was, in a sense, outside of time. Normal "laws" don't have to
apply.
Second, even if the first law still applies to the creation of the
universe, it may well be that the total energy of the universe is zero.
Matter is positive energy, and the gravitational field that binds it
all together represents negative energy. If they are equal, then the
matter simply represents the gravitatational work it took to create it.
The universe may be a quantum flucutation around a zero point of
energy. As Guth says, the "universe might just be one of those things
that happen from time to time."
