M. Kalb and P. Ramond, Phys. Rev. D9 2273 (1974) discovered the
Kalb-Ramond field, which has been especially valuable in developing the
relationships between geometry and physics via the Raychaudhuri
equation especially via the India schools of research. Among the
latter researchers are Sayan Kar (Institute of Physics, Sachwalaya
Marg, Bhubaneswar, India), S. Sengupta (Indian Association for the
Cultivation of Science, Calcutta), S. Sur (Dept. Physics Jadavpur U.,
Calcutta), A. Sinha, etc. The Italians E. Di Grezia (U. Napoli) and S.
Esposito (U. di Monte S. Angelo, Napoli) and M. Botta Cantcheff have
also contributed among others.
The researchers mentioned seem to have little hesitation in combining
new ideas or in worrying about the priority of mathematics versus
physics. This is also noteable in the work of Hestenes of Arizona
State University in Clifford Calculus/Spacetime Physics. Neither is
anybody mentioned apparently obsessed with the priority of Quantum
theory vs General Relativity vs Superstring/Brane theory, although
insofar as the Kalb-Ramond field is concerned there seem to be few if
any explicit connections with Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG). The India
and Italian researchers are decidedly against "prohibitions" including
the LQG prohibition against backgrounds or some physicists'
prohibitions against the Cosmology and Condensed branches of physics.
Nobody among the people mentioned seems to be a Bohmian either or a
pure experimentalist or a holdout for "pure QFT" or pure "algebraic
topology physics" or pure "algebraic geometry physics".
