NASA has access to such things as Big Blue and Cray super computers.
When they need them. As well as various university systems.
Then there's SETI at home. I mis-remember the stats on that, but
it's certainly many millions of CPU years by now.
Generally speaking, more than about 8 or 10 digits of PI will not
get used in most applications that NASA does. CERN certainly won't
use more than that in any apps outside of the theoreticians
having fun doing number theory or cryptography or like.
