This type of system which you liken to an actuarial table is called an ergodic
function. It can be shown to be mathmatically false at

It can be proven physically false for large sized systems as well by the
temperature differential at different altitudes of a planet. See

This is true. The trick is to be able to couple the Browning movement to some
type of transducer to produce energy. That I believe would be very difficult to
accomplish experimentally. There is a much simpler method to do this.

Interesting that it has been proven theoretically impossible, yet is easy to do
experimentally. I think experiment trumps theory so someone needs to go back

Well, I think the proof is wrong. I have a device that I built to test the
theory of Maxwell's demon, and it produces power in the form of electricity
continuously at room temperature. At elevated temperature the power produced
increases dramatically as expected. It is just a matter of knowing how to make
the machine. As it turns out it is very simply to make, so much so in fact that
my 11 year old granddaughter entered a working model in her science fair project
last year.

Yes, you are getting close to the working unit I have, both is the form of using
a membrane or thin film, and in using Maxwell's pressure demon instead of the
more common temperature demon. There is no doubt that this works and be
experimentally verified by almost anyone easily.

Yes it does, but apparently nature does not care if we have made a law saying it
is impossible, because it DOES work reliably.

This is going about it the hard way. The proof is in the pudding, a machine can
easily be built that generates power from the molecular motion of the molecules
of air at room temperature for under $20, by anyone with a little patience and
time. Forget trap doors and such, there is a much simpler and easier way to do
this.

I won't do that, because I know it can be done, I done it many times over the
last few months. I wish I could provide more information, but this has been
accepted for publication in the November issue of a scientific journal, and I
really can't provide the nuts and bolts method of doing this until the article
is published.
Once it is published, I will provide complete details, including photos of the
device, and test results over a 20 C to 55 C temperature range. I will also
provide the theory, the math, and the theoretical and experimental power curves,
which as it turns out lie within +/- 2.5% of each other.
