A job is not a gift. It is an economic transaction where an employee sells
his labor to the employer. The employer is a customer who purchases services
from employee. It is only a gift in an economy of namby pamby good ole boy
networks, and nepotistic little empires. If offenders do not get jobs upon
release from prison, then they cannot be blamed for subsequent criminality
because any opportunity to reform one's self has been blocked by idiots like
you.

You just dont get it.

Using work as punishment is a negative reinforcement. They will never want
to work because they wil always associate work with being in prison. Rather,
work should be offered to inmates, as is done at UNICOR, and they should
have the opportunity to work off part of their sentence. This encourages
them to work and earn - as normal people. But I dont think that you want
that. It seems that you would like criminals to remain exactly as they are
forever, and you're not really concerned about the possibility of social
harm because there is a possibility that you will get an opportunity to
shoot at someone as if playing video game. Unfortunately, your sadistic
fantasy will backfire.

It dosent matter. They will get jobs, or they will return to crime. If you
insist that they be denied jobs, then you are approving of subsequent
crime - so who's the real criminal ??

Dumbass - read the news. There was a lady who could not get a job because
somebody was screwing around with her identity. And she is finding it nearly
impossible to get her record cleaned up.

Additionally, people who were exhonorated by DNA and released from prison
also cannot get jobs because they were once in prison. Nobody cares that
they were innocent in the first place. Nobody cares that they recieved a
full pardon, letter from the Governor, bla bla bla. They cannot get jobs
either.

Clearly, you are completely out of touch with the social realities around
you. You dont seem concerned about solutions - maybe we can solve every
problem that pops up with an M16. Good luck with that.

The unregulated employment discrimination against felons is simple
vigilantism. The justice dept has allowed a "free for all" to employers in
terms of such employment discrimination for decades. This results in the
formation of ghettos, powerful gangs, criminal enterprises, and other
bizarre criminal acts.

If you support this discrimination, then your own hands are creating much
crime. It's just that simple.
