1) rank(R) = g
2) R^t R + R^t T^t T R = I_g
where (h, g) is an element of S^1 X G, x is an element of X, t is
transpose, I_g is the identity matrix (g x g), R is an n x g real
matrix, T is an n x n eal matrix, and the complex matrix R^t R + iR^t
T R is symmetric and has positive definite real part and its
determinent is independent of the various choices involved.
