Dirk,
Your intuition is not far off. By pointing out that context is at
least as, if not potentially more relevant than content, It would throw
a monkey wrench into the assumptions on which physics is based.
Physics is based on the primacy of the unit, whether it is the atom,
the electron, nucleus, the quanta, the string, the Higgs. The wave is
an attempt to quantize. Even the universe is conceived as one great
unit, with the BBT.
Now, if we consider the basic function of time as consisting of content
and context, then all these units are manifestations of the field and
their only real identity is in their interaction. Nodes in the network.
What if the particle is akin to a cross section of a lightning bolt, a
point of transmission and the quantum is due more to phase transitions
then unitary containment?
Are we individuals, or just wave tops on the ocean? Gawd, it's almost
communistic!
