I have no idea whether this is appropriate for your level of study of
the subject, but here are a couple of things to notice in your
explorations:
- Gauss's law applies to both. Before you say "of course", you should
ask yourself what part of gravitational and electrostatic laws allows
Gauss's law to be satisfied, and then ask if it is obvious if it *must*
be that way.
- The generalized principle of equivalence applies to gravity. Does it
apply to electromagnetism? With gravity, this principle has the
implication that gravitational charge (gravitational mass) is identical
to inertial mass. The same can't be said for electromagnetism. So what
gives?
