I don't think the ether (I believe it is spelt without the A) can exist
without defying special relativity. Isn't all phenomena in this world
is subject to the cause effect duality? Therefore, since we haven't
found a pratical reason for this ether (it was dealt with by Einstein),
why claim its existence? Eighty years ago it was eliminated. Such
ridicule of Einstein's hypothesis is pretty ridiculous... Do you really
think they just fiddle with formulae and declare their opinion?
The ether does not exist, although I myself sometimes also cannot
understand how a wave can propagate through nothing.
Could anybody with higher knowledge deem to explain why this is so, and
why the speed of light is the same for all observers regardless of
their relative movement?
