With "IrfanView" you can do many of those things. (IrfanView is a
small, freeware, image editor ... One of Tom Potter's favourites, and
mine too).
www.irfanview.com
You can create a slideshow of many more than 300 pictures (I'm not
sure but I think the only limit is the storage capacity of your
destination media).
The slideshow accepts many formats (.JPG, .BMP, ...).
The result can be played as an *automatic slideshow* with adjustable
presentation time (without clicking from pix to pix). You can play the
slideshow on TV via a DVD player, because the slideshow editor allows
you to create a Video CD (VCD) that is readable by most external DVD
players.
You burn the CD directly from the IrfanView slideshow editor but you
need to have Nero Burning ROM (full or demo version, NO OEM) installed
on your computer. You also need to have installed the "Nero-Plugin" for
IrfanView first. (This Nero Plugin gets installed when you install the
standard package of IrfanView plugins).
I don't know if you can do the same kind of burning on a DVD disk or
if the VCD has to be on a CD.
(Note: To play the VCD on my external DVD player I have to press a
button called "PBC" of my remote DVD controller that activates a
"menu-type" instruction).
