The issue is not being anonymous, nor cookies, etc.

The issue is that I, like billions of people,
I don't like to click on a url,
wait for the site to load to find out I have to register,
and then hit the "back" icon to ignore the site.

1. I don't like to waste time registering
when I can get the info from other sites.

2. I don't like to waste my time registering with sites
UNLESS they offer something of VALUE
that I can't get elsewhere.

I predict that the evolution of the Internet
will favor the sites that don't waste the times of the users,
and don't try to profile them.

For example, Google can be (And will be) had by a search site
that offered the same quality of service,
but focused on the search,
rather than on the searcher.

And as can be seen,
it appears that some politicians are beginning to use
data they get from search engines, the FBI, CIA, etc.
to attack their critics and opponents.
