Jason.
The gravitational effects are not truly 0 Jason,
they are just being cancelled out by acceleration forces
and equalled out to be as close to Zero as possible.
(hence changes of speed 'velocity' once in a great while are needed),
and
If they were an actual true 0 gravitational effect,
(not just a cancelling to the 0) no such orbit could be held.
:)
Also take into fact,
when taking off from Earth or moving closer to earth losing
the orbiting freefall,
you are no longer in freefall orbit WRT Earth.
and once not in freefall with Earth, you are no longer
in freefall with Earth WRT the Sun either.
Such facts are being ignored by many because of
the simple "freefall" thoughts.
but truly even in freefall, you are at a constant motion
fighting the g-forces that are trying to make you fall.
