You can't use the phase velocity of a wave to propagate a signal faster than
the group velocity of the wavetrain. The phase wave is bounded by the group
wave it is trapped inside. If you want to transmit a signal faster than
lightspeed, you must use a carrier that moves naturally faster than light.
There are 'waves' that will fit the bill - probability waves. QM decrees
that the speed of a probability wave is imaginary. This mean time is
imaginary so it in fact doesn't exist for the probability wave - this means
that we will percieve the speed of a probability wave as being infinite.
