Re: Is it our math letting us down?

It is said that Newton's ballistic agenda applied to planetary motion
was revolutionary and a complimentary extension of Keplerian
geometry. The astronomical details tell a different story.

The working principles emerge from Flamsteed's error in using a
calendrically driven system which links the Earth's rotation directly
to the 'fixed stars' which Newton turned into mean Sun/Earth distances.
-

"PHÆNOMENON IV.
That the fixed stars being at rest, the periodic times of the five
primary planets, and (whether of the sun about the earth, or) of the
earth about the sun, are in the sesquiplicate proportion of their mean
distances from the sun."

Graphically that view works out like this -

There is a tremendous amount of error involved in allowing a
calendrically driven system dictate the axial and orbital motions of
the Earth and after a short while people should develop an severe
antipathy towards Newton's hideous attempt to introduce the stellar
background as a reference to heliocentric motion.

Newton offered optical astronomers a better way to use the
calendrically based Ra/Dec system for their newly invented telescopes
and clocks,in return Newton squeezed out the astronomical heritage
based on discerning true motion from apparent motion* and placed it
within empiricism or the idea that terrestial ballistics could be
overlaid on astronomical data such as Copernican heliocentricity and
the Keplerian refinement.Needless to say the results have been hideous.

Astronomers work comfortably with orbital motions as seen from the
orbitally moving Earth and especially the spectacular Keplerian
addition to the Copernican insight -

"Copernicus, by attributing a single annual motion to the earth,
entirely rids the planets of these extremely intricate coils [spiris],
leading the individual planets into their respective orbits
[orbitas],quite bare and very nearly circular. In the period of time
shown in the diagram, Mars traverses one and the same orbit as many
times as the 'garlands' [corollas] you see looped towards the
centre, with one extra, making nine times, while at the same time the
Earth repeats its circle sixteen times " Kepler

Astronomia Nova 1609

So Gregory, after going to all the trouble of presenting how Newton
worked off a faulty astronomical foundation for his ballistic agenda
applied to planetary motion and presenting how Kepler would have worked
off the relationship between planetary orbits,it would be extremely
productive to restore some dignity to the whole exercise.

Theorists are now totally adrift in their own creations and that is
fine,by hijacking genuine insights like the Keplerian insight it is not
fine for the great Copernican insight is behind that complimentary
Keplerian addition.

You are the first people in centuries to really make a difference where
others, for various reasons , could not.The choice is between
feebleminded Newtonian thumbsucking or to actually do the neccessary
forensics to untangle the misconduct and misjudgements of Newton. In the
early 20th century they only managed to package Newton in a bigger can
of worms.

Predictions are for astrologers and I assure you that Newtonian
astronomical conceptions,by retaining the stellar background for
heliocentricity has far more in common with astrology that even
Ptolemaic astronomy. That is not overstated but technically the one
thing that emerges through the Newtonian clockwork solar system.
