I know this will never happen in my lifetime but it is

Of couse it would be nothing near the specifications [e.g. small size]
I described in the "My Favorite Laser" thread.
But out of sheer interest, I ask what would be the appoximate anatomy
of a 400nm laser pumped and powered solely by nuclear-fusion and uses
rare-earth crystal as the "medium"?
A green laser powered by a solar cell?
Thanks,
Radium
P.S. its fun to think of having many of these laser powering each other
via thermonuclear chain reaction [i.e. light from one laser induces
thermonuclear reactions in the pump of next laser, the next laser emits
light that induces thermonuclear reactions in the pump of the laser in
front of it]
Did someone invent a 100% efficient laser while my back was turned?
