Re: Quantum Gravity Via Expansion-Contraction 12.1: Generalization of 12.0

I have quickly truncated the rest of your admission of consistantly making
so many mistakes with simple equations.

Well, at least "underdog" advocates of Lunatics-At-Any-Price can't
claim that lunatics are unfairly underrepresented on sci.physics.

Tom is a rather special case, though, since he lies in wait for an
occasional arithmetic or algebraic error and then claims that this is
"consistantly [sic!] making so many mistakes with simple equations."
This is another type of tactic of the MoveOn.Org type Trolls in and out
of sci.physics, "overgeneralizing". I used to be interested in
psychological warfare when I read books in the public library, and
readers can probably still find books or papers citing these methods
and others there or on the internet.

In fact, Terrorist propagandists sometimes try to get opponents to make
mistakes by making them self-conscious of verbal or written errors,
hoping that they'll make some slip of the tongue/computer that will
reveal some hidden agenda.

Once in a while, I do make a surprising number of tiny errors but
almost always correct them shortly afterward. Typos increase with age
usually after about 55 or 60 or so, as does non-detail orientation (see
various internet psychology papers), but "global mental ability"
actually increases. I'm 67. Many older quantitative people retire or
stop posting to the internet when they find themselves making more
typos than when they were young. In the Academic world, professors
with Tenure can usually have their TAs or RA assistants correct their
tiny arithmetic or algebraic errors. Others have to fend for
themselves. Once in a while you get a very old quantitative researcher
who makes no errors in the most minute arithmetic or algebra but is
also neither ill nor in financial difficulty nor has stepped very much
outside the box in his/her life and is a good candidate for the
Ultimate Conformist Award. I'll stick with Nonconformity and continue
to enjoy stepping on the feet of Ingenious Imitators who can't do
anything but attack other people's typos or grovel beneath their
Conformist Heroes' proclamations.
