NMR experiment factors numbers with Gauss sums - resources needed?

Have the claims in

http://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/0609174

regarding the preprint whose title is the subject of this message been
verified ??

The number factored by the NMR device is 157573. If this is correct it
amounts to a significant advance in the physics of computation.

Suppose a university laboratory wish to replicate these experiments -
what would be the overall cost of creating resources to carry out such
experiments ?
