Hi Tom_Potter ( and T.J. ), What's wrong with the 107 foot,
400 ton ( 300 ton hull, 50 ton ballast and 50 ton Hiab )
" Army LT " ( Light Tug ) ?

He's sunk two million dollars into it so far,
not counting the half million dollar Deep_2 system.
The steel hull is over an inch thick;
more than enough to support the Hiab ( with its 30 foot reach ). See:

By the way, the large tug that I've been seeing at
the Seattle Yatch Club is flying the " Red Ensign "
which is currently used by the United Kingdom's Merchant Navy. See:

The tug has a large main deck in the rear.
The main deckhouse has 5 portals to the right of the door, 9 on the right.

P.S. there are three ensigns, red, white, and blue.

Red: British merchantmen
White: Royal Naval Service

The Union Jack is a combination of the Irish, Scottish and English
crosses:
